Ran the same Craig's list ad and email scam for a house in Edmond, OK, a suburb just north of Oklahoma City. 600 a month for a 1900 square foot house in Edmond is unheard of. I contacted to make sure it wasn't a typo when he meant to put in 1600/month.

I contacted this number in response to a Craigslist ad for a house at 204 Ewing Street, Princeton, NJ. I wanted to get a tour of the property so, naturally, I contacted the person who posted the ad at the email provided on the site ( In response to my email, I received a long-winded email with a lot of grammatical errors and broken english. In the bottom of the email, they left this number and that's when I called. Much to my surprise, the person who answered sounded like an African male with a heavy accent. He insisted that he was, indeed, Penelope Wilkinson and that I could not tour the house until I was deemed qualified to rent the property. I told him that no one rents a property that they have not seen the inside of and hung up. Please beware - if it seems to good to be true, it probably is so DO YOUR RESEARCH.

This was a text message. It asked us if we did call them earlier. If we did not, they said to reply with NO to be removed from their list. I have received similar text messages from other wireless numbers. I think this is a scam.
